Data sovereignty

Because the operator set is configured per deployment, sovereignty requirements are a setup choice rather than a blocker.

For an EU deployment, nominate EU-domiciled operators running in EU cloud regions. Sensitive data is then secret-shared only across operators inside your jurisdiction, and no single operator — TACEO included — ever holds it in the clear.

The same applies to any other jurisdiction: the constraint is expressed by who you nominate as operators and where they run, not by a separate deployment of the software.

What this changes

Residency by design. Data is secret-shared across the operators you nominated, in the regions they run in.

Your operators, your jurisdiction. Bring-your-own operators means the deployment runs in cloud accounts those operators control. See Node operators.

No plaintext honeypot to localize. There is no location where the data exists in the clear, so residency is not a question of securing a single sensitive store — there isn't one.
