On/off ramp
The ramp is where privacy and regulation meet. Screening has to happen, but a business does not want every conversion size and frequency exposed onchain the moment funds land.
What Merces adds
Screening at the boundary. AML and sanctions screening runs on funds entering and leaving the private account. The entry and exit points are the right place for compliance — not the inside of private state.
A clean break on withdrawal. Deposit and withdrawal amounts are visible, because those are standard token transfers. But nothing links a withdrawal to any specific private transfer: what happened inside the private balance stays inside it.
No new burden on regulated counterparties. CASPs and on-ramp providers interacting with the account face no compliance requirements beyond what they already do for public wallets.
Your compliance stack or ours. The Compliance Engine is a pluggable slot; Predicate fills it by default, and a compatible provider can be substituted. See Pre-transaction screening.
Disclosure for law enforcement. Requests are scoped and auditable, returning the selected data and nothing else. See Post-transaction disclosure.
